Firstly i have to say we have been here before and really enjoyed the guided tour! But on FRIDAY 14th APRIL which is GOOD FRIDAY, I rang the number provided on your web site which said we are OPEN WED-SUN,and PUBLIC HOLIDAYS! so as we are from Ipswich, we then drove to SANDGATE to pick up my partners FATHER to take him out and show him this fantastic property and also have lunch there. But when we arrived low and behold, you were SHUT on what was a PUBLIC HOLIDAY, forgive me if i am wrong but i thought GOOD FRIDAY WAS a PUBLIC HOLIDAY! So we went to WARWICK for lunch then returned home very DISAPPOINTED as I am sure you could imagine. So could you please explain to me WHY you were SHUT on what myself and probably a lot of other people would call a PUBLIC HOLIDAY.FRIDAY 14TH APRIL. THANKYOU. I am pretty sure i was told it is run by volunteers so keep up the good work.

An old house full of history. Was vacated and fell into disrepair due to weather, vandalism etc. It has been partialy restored, but some of the old areas have been left, so you can see how bad it was. There is also a cafe remote from the mansion. We went on a free admission day, so won't comment on value, but we certainly enjoyed our visit.
